<sub>「 When Andre's mother gave birth to him, she and Andre's father were still very young and in high school. His mother had dropped out of school and got married to take care of Andre so when his father died of disease when Andre was only three years old, she was at a complete loss and no longer had the hope of raising Andre by herself. She had wanted to put him up for adoption but her mother refused and took him in herself. Andre's mother left the two of them unexpectedly without spoken reason. Every year on Andre's birthday, she would come back to visit, but only for a very short while.

Andre's grandmother is a kind and gentle lady and he loves her very much. Even though he was living with his grandmother for all his life, he still feels just a bit of awkwardness towards her. Knowing what his mother had done and leaving him with his grandmother... he was disappointed in his mother for being irresponsible and feels like a large burden to his grandmother.

Though Andre excels in English, Social Studies, and Science (that doesn't involve formulas..), math is the bane of his existence. He cannot comprehend anything thrown at him that involves math very quickly and only gets average marks. 」</sub>
